In a dazzling display of culinary excellence, Nino's Masala Sauce and Korma Paste are winners at the prestigious Great Taste Awards 2023, organised by The Guild of Fine Food. Among tough competition, both products achieved the recognition of excellence with a remarkable 2-star rating.

The Great Taste Awards, hosted annually by The Guild of Fine Food, is a highly esteemed and comprehensive food and drink accreditation scheme. As an industry benchmark for taste and quality, these awards celebrate the finest culinary delights across the UK. With a panel of expert judges, including chefs, food critics, restaurateurs, and food writers, the standards are certainly high.

Here's what the judges had to say about Nino's Masala Sauce:

This rich and glossy sauce has a mellow and attractive savoury aroma belying the initial punchy hit on the palate, which mellows out and becomes more rounded. It is very well spiced and balanced in flavour with fresh ginger notes, cumin, roast garlic, fresh chilli and some soft rounded sweet spice coming through. All spices are well cooked out, so that the warming and full-flavour experience is very pleasing and satisfying. A delicious and versatile sauce which is very well executed showing a skilled use of spice.

A very well-made masala sauce, with a suggestion of double tempering - there is a depth of aroma as of caramelised onions and mellow, integrated spice, followed by zesty ginger and a burst of fresh spice on the finish. The heat is marked but really well managed and in great balance with the spices. Clean, bright finish with rounded warmth. Delightful.

There were delicious fruity notes from the sauce that were appealing. There were delicious layers on the palate of the spices interspersed with a gentle sweetness. The heat stayed evident but worked in the background and we loved the homemade appearance. Well done.

What a beautiful aroma of aromatics your Korma paste has, there are hints of cumin, ginger and well-cooked spices within your chosen mix. There are wonderful floral notes along with a zestiness and warmth from your combination of very well chosen spices.

This iss a great-looking paste with a wonderful classic korma aroma. It shows great finesse and knowledge of spices, which have been very well cooked to maximise the complexity, depth and balance . This is a classic korma, with plenty of flavour. Well done.

This has a fragrant and aromatic aroma with a good depth of flavour and a pleasing kick of lime. The taste was more intense than expected in a korma, but the judges liked the fresh flavour of the seeds and were impressed by the chilli balance which made the whole thing feel homemade from scratch. The taste of the lime, cloves, garlic and cumin was excellent - very impressive.

The Outstanding 2-Star Rating

Being awarded a 2-star rating at the Great Taste Awards is a testament to the extraordinary taste and quality of our products. The judging process is rigorous and impartial, with each product tasted blind by multiple judges.
